Bridgewater Hall Concert Trip

The Year 9, 10 and 11 GCSE Music students attended a special concert at the  Bridgewater Hall on Friday 28th September called ‘The Orchestra Through the Ages’. This concert was designed to increase knowledge and understanding about musical features and instruments from the Baroque through to the Classical and Romantic eras. It was fantastic to see a real harpsichord within the Baroque orchestra, and hear Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto from the GCSE set works, as well as learn so much more about instruments, styles and musical elements. Our highlight was the film score for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. Thank you to the Halle Orchestra for preparing such a varied, informative and entertaining problem which we all thoroughly enjoyed.
