Loreto Jazz Band at Manchester Central Library

Our Loreto Jazz Band was invited to perform for the third time at Manchester Central Library’s Christmas open weekend on 16th December 2017. There was a fantastic atmosphere with performances from many arts organisations throughout the day. Our Jazz Band performed a 40-minute set of Christmas and Jazz classics and were absolutely brilliant, drawing a huge crowd of our own supporters, as well as many general public, who were amazed by the talent and professionalism of our students. They performed seasonal tunes such as A Big Band Christmas and Slade’s Merry Christmas Everybody as well as classic Jazz numbers such as Watermelon Man, Jungle Boogie, It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing and Harlem Nocturne. The crowd were dancing, singing and joining in with some percussion and everyone had a fantastic time. Funds were also raised towards our Three Countries Concert Tour in July. Congratulations to all who performed.

We are part of the ‘Bee in the city’ art trail. The St.Johns ‘Bee-attitude’ bee is number 93 of the little bees and is in the Lowry theatre in Salford Quays. #beeinthecitymcr https://t.co/IRRm6Eh4T0
