Student Rewards System
At Loreto High School we recognise the importance of praise as a means of motivating students. We also encourage students to become active members of our learning community and take greater responsibility for their own independent learning.
We use the Vivo Miles award-winning rewards platform to allow teachers to award students electronic points called “Vivos”. The points can be redeemed on a wide selection of items from our Vivo Shop, or they can donated to charity or spent on line on the Vivo website.
- The scheme’s currency – the Vivo – goes beyond conventional stickers and stars to offer a real-life vehicle for financial learning.
- This reward system is understood and valued by all students of all ages, and one which supports the silent majority of students who often go unnoticed
- Students save and spend Vivos on their choice of rewards and develop their financial capability in the process.
How does it work?
Students will be provided with their own secure personal access details for their account. Teachers will reward students with Vivo points. The points accumulated each day show on the Vivo website and students can log on to their account and monitor their progress.
What will be rewarded?
This is up to the school to decide and may change from time to time, depending upon our focus. For example we give 10 Vivos to students for a full week’s attendance and 5 Vivos for being punctual every day. Students collect as many Vivos as they can by working hard, ensuring excellent punctuality and attendance and contributing to our learning community in a positive way.
What are the benefits?
The Vivo Miles model is designed to help students to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic wellbeing. The scheme encourages personal responsibility and choice.
