On Thursday 2nd March the whole school celebrated World Book Day. Staff from across the school dressed up as their favourite literary characters to promote a love of reading to Loreto pupils and create a sense of adventure and mystery. The Learning Lounge was transformed into Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory with Year 7 pupils enjoying activity packed English lessons throughout the day. Classes created their very own imaginative sweets, chocolates and lollipops in the ‘Invention Room,’ inspired by the writing of Roald Dahl. Pupils also acted out scenes inspired by the text and posed in the Chocolate Factory ‘photo booth.’
Excited pupils went on a mission to find one of the six golden tickets hidden secretly around the school.
Well done to golden ticket prize winners who each received a large bag of coins made from delicious milk chocolate. The fantastic team of pupil Library Assistants helped Miss Shepherd throw a World Book Day party at lunch time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the event. The students thoroughly enjoyed their day of adventure and now even more students are enjoying the fantastic resources available in the learning lounge.
