Year 8 Football Victory

The year 8 football team, who were crowned Champions of Manchester last year after remaining undefeated all season, are currently top of the Premier League.

The highly skilled players work exceptionally well as a team, have a focused determination to win trophies and are currently climbing to success in both the Catholic Cup and the Manchester Cup.

The team are off to the Quarter finals of the Manchester Cup after beating St Bedes 4-1 and Manchester Communications Academy MCA 4-2. Special mention goes to John Clarke and Jamai Ayegun who were outstanding in the recent home game against MCA. Loreto will now play St Peter’s in the Quarter finals in March.

In addition, the talented team have now qualified for the  Semi-finals of the Catholic Cup after beating St Paul’s at home 4-2.  Special mention goes to goal keeper Kegen Stevenson for his fantastic tackles and saves, goal scorers John Clarke and Levente Dele-Charley, and double goal scorer Jahmiar Boyce.  Loreto will now play Blessed Thomas Halford in the Semi-final in March.

Not surprisingly, some of the Loreto boys have come to the attention of Development Squads who are keen to recruit players with exceptional talent. Well done to John Clarke and Jahmiar Boyce who have been signed by Oldham Athletics FC development squad, linked to Oldham Athletic FC. Well done to the team and to their coach Mr Fuller  and good luck in the Semi-finals.
